- 2024: Finalist for the South Asian Journalism Association Award in the international reporting category for my coverage of the Manipur conflict.
- 2024: Finalist for Society of Professional Journalists Award in the climate/environment reporting category.
- 2023: Shortlisted for red ink award by Mumbai Press Club (Health and Fitness) for my story on Myanmarese doctor refugees working in the Indian border state of Mizoram.
- 2023: Rocky Mountain Emmy award (student non fiction - short documentary)
- 2023: Hostwriter prize for collaborative reporting on the refugee crisis along the Indo-Myanmar border.
- 2022: Shortlisted for red ink award by Mumbai press club (women empowerment and gender equality) for my investigation into sexual harassment complaints at India’s premier school, the indian institute of technology.
- 2022: Special mention in the Asian College of Journalism Investigative Reporting Award for reporting on an Indian Army soldier who was declared an ‘illegal foreigner’ in Assam
- 2021: Red Ink Award by the Mumbai Press Club in the Entertainment/Lifestyle category for reporting on Teer, an archery sport played in Meghalaya where locals gamble numbers based on their dreams for CNN International
- 2020: National Media Award by National Foundation for India for reporting on the coal mining areas of Jaintia hills, Meghalaya.
- 2019: South Asian Journalism Association award for ‘Outstanding business reporting about South Asia or the world wide South Asia diaspora: All Media’ category for my story, Sweet or Salty: Could Black rice become Manipur’s Quinoa?’
- 2017: UNFPA supported Laadli Media Award for Gender Sensitivity in the ‘Web - E-Magazine Article’ Category for my story, What Manipuri women are doing for the current protests. What the current protests could be doing for Manipuri women, in The Ladies Finger.

- 2020: Among 12 fellows selected for the 2020 Narrative Journalism Bootcamp organised by The Caravan Magazine and Konrad Adenaner Stiftung Ltd. (Asia) in Sri Lanka.
- 2019: National Foundation of India fellowship to report on the fall out of the 2014 coal mining ban by the National Green Tribunal on the local communities in the Jaintia tribal hill district of Meghalaya, India.
- 2019: Smitu Kothari Fellowship awarded by the Centre for Financial Accountability to report on the North East Frontier Railway line coming up in Manipur
- 2018: The Zubaan-Sasakawa Foundation Grant for Young Researchers for reporting on the topic, ‘Why insurgents kill rape accused in Manipur’
